Visit the Egyptian city of Port Said, where the Mediterranean meets the Suez Canal, had been a key stopover in journeys connecting Europe with many other parts of the world. Second city to visit will be Alexandria the second largest city in Egypt, where we will visit few sites such as The Forte of Qaitbay, Pompey’s Pillar, The National Museum of Alexandria, and pass by the bibliotheca of Alexandria from outside.

Itinerary

Day 1Cairo - Port Said

– Early morning pick up from your hotel in Cairo (place of residence) for the drive northbound for around 200Km (2.5 hours more or less) to The Egyptian city of Port Said, where the Mediterranean meets the Suez Canal, had been a key stopover in journeys connecting Europe with many other parts of the world,
– Upon arrival; check-in the hotel, and a short break to freshen-up,
– Drive through the old streets of Port Said, perhaps the most captivating part of this city is the remaining (slightly preserved) architecture all around and the authenticity of the town,
– Visit Port Said Lighthouse, The oldest concrete lighthouse in the world, built in 1860, now fenced off but picturesque nonetheless,
– Drive to and visit Port Said Military Museum,
– Drive to the last point of the northern east corner of Africa and embark the Ferryboat, that connects with the Egyptian city of Port Fouad in the continent of Asia in a quick journey with unique panoramic views over the Suez Canal as well as the imposing administrative Suez Canal House and its distinctive green domes, erected in 1869 for the inauguration of the waterway,
– Drive through Port Fouad, this city was founded in 1920, it preserves many French-inspired houses in tree-lined streets, it was named after King Fouad I, and because it is a port it became Port Fouad. It was originally, in 1920, designed to provide accommodations to workers on the Suez Canal; according to Port Said governorate it was built in French style, with wide squares and astonishing villas.
– Back to the hotel and overnight,

Day 2Port Said - Alexandria

– Early morning breakfast at the hotel, and check out,
– Drive westbound to the city of Rashid (also called Rosetta), around 200Km, (2.5 hours more or less) Where the Rosetta Stone was found on July 19, 1799, during Napoleon Bonaparte’s campaign on Egypt, this stone was the key to solving the riddle of hieroglyphics, over and above that this city layout, general architect and design is unique and different from regular Egyptian cities,
– After a drive through the city to witness its uniqueness, a stop for a visit to the Museum of Rashid,
– A stop for lunch (not included)
– Continue driving west bound for around 70 Km (1 hour more or less) to Alexandria the second largest city in Egypt,
– Check-in to the hotel
– In the evening, a pleasant walk through the water front promenade; Cornish street of Alexandria,
– Back to the hotel and overnight,

Day 3Alexandria - Al Alamein City

– Breakfast at the hotel,
– Check out,
– Tour of Alexandria to visit The Forte of Qaitbay, Pompey’s Pillar, The National Museum of Alexandria, Pass by the bibliotheca of Alexandria from outside
– Drive westbound for around 120 Km (2 hours more or less) to the city of Al Alamein where the last battles of world war 2 took place,
– Check-in to the hotel
– Dinner at the hotel and overnight

Day 4Al Alamein City - Cairo

– Breakfast at the hotel,
– Check out,
– Tour of Al Alamein to visit The Military Museum of Al Alamein, The British Commonwealth Cemetery of Al Alamein,
– Drive southbound for 280 Km (3.5 hours more or less) to Cairo, end of services,
